DEGREE STRUCTURE

The 2 year programme comprises of both coursework and a thesis. It includes the following courses:

The proposed MSc in Sustainable Energy will focus on the minigrid and off-grid sectors. It is a two year programme consisting of modules in engineering (electrical and mechanical), renewable energy, entrepreneurship and business development, and project management.  The multidisciplinary degree will therefore incorporate courses from Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Business Administration.

The degree aims to develop students’ design and engineering competencies relevant to  minigrids, off grid energy systems and hybrid energy systems. In addition it aims to develop entrepreneurship and business competencies to equip students for  business ventures in the sector as well as project management skills in the context of infrastructure development and management.
