This webinar will highlight the importance of mini-grids for community electrification and productive uses, focusing on the different ownership/business models as well as the challenges/opportunities for mini-grid applications in conflict affected contexts.
SEforALL will set the scene, followed by three case studies from Yemen, Gaza and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). UNDP Yemen will showcase an innovative community owned mini-grid project, followed by experiences from Nuru on commercial implementation of a 1.3 MW system in Goma, DRC. ICRC will close, with insights and possibilities for mini-grid implementation in Gaza.
