University of Cape Coast celebrates inaugural cohort in Clean Energy

We are delighted to share that TEA-LP partner, University of Cape Coast (UCC), in Ghana, has launched two new masters’ programmes: MSc and MPhil in Clean Energy and Environment. 24 new masters’ students enjoyed their orientation day early this month where they learnt more about their new programme and met fellow classmates.

UCC has adopted all three TEA-LP courses (Local Solutions for Energy Access, Mini-grids Planning and Design, and Appliances for Off-Grid Communities) into the two programmes. Each course includes different aspects of energy access, such as technology, policy, business models and socio-economic aspects. The courses use a case study approach, highlighting best examples of global/regional solutions as well as local solutions.

There is high demand for energy expertise in Ghana and we are excited to be a part of fostering a skilled workforce to meet this need. Congratulations to Dr. Mohammed Takase and Dr. Isaac Mbir Bryant on the success of the programme launch. We are looking forward to continued partnership and following your students’ academic journey.
